1. Author Geradine Hughes - Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations

Geradine Hughes

Geraldine Hughes, the sole legal secretary of Barry Rothman, comes forth to set the record straight about what really happened behind the scenes in the 1993 child molestation case against Michael Jackson. In her book, called Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations, Hughes reveals facts that have never been made public, court documented information, public statements and records that she insists prove Jackson's innocence.

The chapters unfold by revealing the key players, highlighting the events leading up to the allegations, as well as giving a thorough description of the legal activities that led Jackson's attorney to settle the case.

"There are a lot of facts that have not been revealed concerning this case," Hughes said. "I have maintained a strong silence concerning the unrevealed facts. That is why I decided to write Redemption - to reveal them in a chapter-by-chapter fashion. The public needs to examine the information and put it together, letting the truth speak for itself."

For more information about Redemption and to order copies of the book, visit:

www.redemption-michaeljacksonstory.com

Several of those previously unrevealed facts include:

The custody battle between Dr. Evan Chandler and his ex-wife, June Schwartz, over their 13-year-old son was a key part in the child molestation allegations. In order for Chandler to obtain the millions he was requesting from Jackson, he had to have custody of his son. Otherwise, the money would be under Schwartz's control.

Investigators intimidated children they contacted from Jackson's personal phone book by claiming to have photos of them with Jackson in order to get them to admit to events that never happened.

Chandler admitted to David Schwartz, the step-father of the 13-year-old boy, that he had been "rehearsed about what to say" and that "there were other people involved that are waiting for my phone call that are in certain positions…everything's going according to a certain plan that isn't just mine." Chandler admitted to Schwartz that, "if I don't get what I want, it will be a massacre."

Does the 1993 case bear any resemblance to the recent allegations? Definitely, according to Hughes. Among other similarities, both were reported the same way: through a third party.

Redemption is a modern-day mystery that requires a chapter-by-chapter unfolding for all the facts to be known and to redeem an innocent man's character from the cloud of guilt that has been hanging over his head since 1993. Justice can only be served after the truth is told.

Geraldine Hughes is one of Los Angeles's top legal secretaries turned office manager and has enjoyed working in the legal field for the past 23 years. She is also an aspiring gospel singer/songwriter and has sung across the nation during the past 18 years.

In 1999, she traveled to Bulgaria on a mission team and gained the title "International Missionary." When she returned to California, Hughes had a desire to become a fulltime missionary. In 2001, she had an opportunity to work as a full-time missionary in Watts, Ca. Although her ministry assignment ended shortly thereafter, Hughes continued in her commitment to work with the beautiful children of Watts.

Currently, Hughes works with children and at-risk youth. As a full-time missionary, she provides them with an outlet to get involved in Christian activities outside their environment to enhance their quality of life through social, academic and spiritual enrichment. She involves them in Christian and positive activities, disciplines and encourages their weekly involvement in church activities. It is her goal to someday have a youth center for the at-risk and a youth church that trains and instructs youth how to interact with one another.

She decided to write Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegation in 1993 after attending a gospel music conference where an editor encouraged the audience to find a subject in their lives that was book-worthy and submit it. Hughes completed the book by the end of 2000. However, she put it on hold because of her decision to become a full-time missionary. In 2002, Hughes lost her mother, who was instrumental in her coming forward in the beginning of the 1993 child molestation allegations. In July 2003, she decided to search for a publisher, again. In September 2003, she found a company to publish Redemption, and the book was released early in 2004.

2. CD Review: Jackson Five - "Live In Japan"

J 5 Live What if I told you that there was a brand new LIVE CD (never released before) rescued from the vaults of Motown out by a pretty good funk band that has two outstanding lead singers who can throw down equally well with fast songs and slow jams???
(Would you be interested in buying it???)

This is yet another in the series of LIVE concerts from 1973 in Japan, rescued from the vaults of Motown by our friends at HIP-O Select. Now you might think that you don't need this, but there are some gems in here that impressed me. Remember this is 1973, so at this point the Jackson 5 had already been on Motown for 6 years and had actually developed not only into great live artists, but also into a pretty good funk band. For example starting with the opening track "Gonna Have a Good Time" to their cover versions of Papa Was A Rolling Stone", "Superstition" and the inevitable live medley of "I Want You Back", "ABC" and "The Love You Save", the J5 show that they are a bonafide FUNK band (and to this day they get no respect for that). Michael and Jermaine do a great job of trading leads on some songs and on the songs that they take the solo leads both of em TEAR IT UP. Not many groups have been blessed to have two such talented lead singers and this previously un released LIVE CD is a great document of that.

If you join us on 12/14 @ 10pm eastern standard time /7pm pacific standard time, in the Soul-Patrol Chat room at http://www.soul-patrol.com/chat. Then you will be able to listen to this newly released CD, as we chat with author Geraldine Hughes, about the Micheal Jackson case.

4. What's Soul-Patrol's Take On The Michael Jackson Case?

Soul-Patrol RadioHere is my response to an email sent to me a few months back, from a concerned Soul-Patrol member. This response pretty much sums up my personal views on the case and the allegations in general...

1. I agree with you on the topic of child molestation in general. I have an 11 year old daughter and if I found out that she were molested, I would kill that individual and not wait for a trial to convict the person.

2. In my opinion Geraldine Hughes is an honorable person. She isn't associated with the Jackson family or anybody else for that matter. She is an average person, who was privy to information about the 1993 case by virtue of the fact that she worked in the law office of the attorney retained by the family.

3. In the book she brings forward factual evidence about the 1993 case that proves that Michael Jackson was the victim of an extortion plot. There was not one shred of evidence proving that he committed any crime whatsoever. That is why the case never went to court.

4. In the book Geraldine explains in great detail exactly why, from a legal perspective Michael Jackson settled the case, rather than to go to a trial where he would have been found innocent.

5. In my opinion her book hasn't gotten anywhere near the news coverage that it deserves and that people on Soul-Patrol would be interested in knowing the facts about the 1993 case, as detailed in Geraldine's book.

Ultimately a jury will decide if Michael Jackson is guilty of committing any crimes or if he was just guilty of being stupid in having such close contact with these young boys, whose parents were simply after his money.

Basicly Soul-Patrol thinks that this case is not as straightforward as the mass media would have us belive. And to that end we think that OUR members deserve to hear about this case, directly from Geraldine Hughes herself, a person WHO WAS THERE AND WHO KNOWS THE FACTS. We also think that YOU should be able to have a free and open discussion with her online to throw in your two cents as well.
