Welcome To The Soul-Patrol Newsletter

A Very Specific, Overt/Covert Agenda

This issue of the Soul-Patrol Newsletter is just a little bit different. My objective here is to tell you about three things:

1. To tell you about an important entertainment/educational event that I will be attending, taking place in the City of Pittsburgh, the weekend of 10/3 - 10/5. This event will be in celebration of our friend Kevin Amos 30th year in broadcasting. My sincere hope is that if you live in the Greater Pittsburgh Tri-State you will participate and join with us in a unique experience that is just as much about the future as it is about the past.

2. To give you some idea of Kevin's 30 years of broadcasting accomplishments over the years.

3. To give you some perspective on the diversity of knowlege that Kevin brings to the table, via our special audio presentation featuring three different interviews conducted by Kevin and introduced by former BET Anchorman Ed Gordon.

4. To give you some perspective on his contributions to Soul-Patrol.com over the years

Many of you have met Kevin either in person or via his writing and broadcasts. I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing Kevin for 35 years. We met at a Bruce Springsteen concert back in 1973, where we were the only two Black people in attendance and we have been friends ever since.

And of course as I often do, I also have a "hidden agenda." Between the lines of the text and the audio, my hope is that you can also see and hear just what the possibilities are when two Black men are able to "go against the grain" and allow true communication & trust to govern their behavior...

Check it all out and let us know what cha think?

Thanks in advance...
