"Washington DC has always been a home for The Impressions. Every time we come back, it is always a great experience. We have a lot of fans in your wonderful city, and it makes us feel very good to perform there, because it always feels like we're coming back home. We're very proud and honored to have been invited to sing at the Chocolate City Soul Revue alongside so many talented artists, because these kind of shows don't exist anymore in modern times. It is very rare to be able to participate in a show of this magnitude, because it brings back many wonderful memories of the big Soul revues back in the 1960s." - The Impressions

"I thank the Lord and I thank the Chocolate City Soul Revue for allowing James Brown's Original Funky Divas to reunite and do their thing one more time. For many years, we have talked about this, we have shared dreams and hopes. Now our prayers have been answered, as we get to honor the legacy of our deceased sister Lyn Collins, our dear friend and Vicki's husband, the late Bobby Byrd and, of course, the Godfather of Soul James Brown, who will be smiling upon us on June 4th. I am also happy to perform with the Impressions, one of the greatest Soul groups of all time, and Eli "Paperboy" Reed, and incredibly nice and talented young man who will keep our legacy alive for future generations. And let's not forget about the Soulpower Djs, who have spread their message of real Soul music across the world already. I hope to see all my friends and fans in Washington DC this June." - Marva Whitney

"I am really, really happy that this Chocolate City Soul Revue is coming to life, because I can't wait to sing with my sisters of the James Brown show for the first time in many, many years. I am also very proud to be part of this show because DC is my hometown, and to perform there with my two big sisters Marva Whitney and Vicki Anderson is a wonderful thing. The Chocolate City Soul Revue is an amazing event, because together with our old friends of the James Brown show, with the Impressions and with Eli "Paperboy" Reed we can show the young people where Soul music started and we will bring back many good memories to those who have been around longer. Come join us, bring your friends and family and enjoy the magic of Soul music! Together, we will write history on June 4th!" - Martha High

"As a young singer and songwriter, I am so honored to be involved in the Chocolate City Soul Revue. I've had the privilege to play and sing with some of my idols before, but this really takes the prize! Not only do we have the Original Funky Divas, Martha High, Marva Whitney and Vicki Anderson but they're being backed by some of the original members of the James Brown Band; and to top it off The Impressions! Shows like this don't exist anymore! Honestly, if we weren't playing this show I would have already bought my bus ticket from Brooklyn to DC because there's no way I would miss it. I can't wait for the great times, the great stories and the great music!" - Eli "Paperboy" Reed
